At the Highvelder in Ermelo we believe that we are the village noticeboard and the voice of the community.

The Highvelder was established in 1903 and for the last 110 year we are uninterruptedly distributing newspapers free to Ermelo and surrounding towns every Thursday. Currently we distribute 18 000 newspapers weekly.

We strive to serve the entire community and maintain a good balance between hard news, sport, community, local government, school and human interest news.

The editorial team consist of Wayne van der Walt (editor) and journalists, Karunika (Nikki) Maharaj and René Joubert.

Natalie Pieterse and Xoliswa Siluma provides us with sufficient advertisement each week whilst our graphic designer, JP du Preez, Jacqui Matthews and Michelle Fourie (production manager) oversees the graphic design, planning and production of the newspaper.

We are open to constructive criticism and always welcome the input of our readers.
